Wi-Fi 7 — what actually changes, and what it costs you to use it
Wi-Fi 7 marketing is unusually number-heavy, and the numbers are real. What the marketing leaves out is that every one of them is an air-interface figure, and air-interface figures only become throughput if the wired side was built for them.

The failure modes this design exists to prevent
Not a list of pain points — the specific ways this kind of deployment gets found out, usually after handover.
Headline speeds are air capacity, not delivered throughput
A BE14000 rating is the sum of three radios under ideal conditions with no interference and no contention. It is a useful ceiling. It is not what a client sees, and it is certainly not what a client sees through a Gigabit switch port.
6 GHz has excellent capacity and poor reach
The 6 GHz band carries the largest channels and passes through walls least well. A design that assumes 6 GHz coverage matches 5 GHz coverage will have holes exactly where the capacity was supposed to be.
Most client fleets are not Wi-Fi 7 yet
MLO needs a Wi-Fi 7 client to use it. In an office where 80 percent of laptops are Wi-Fi 6 on a three-year refresh cycle, the benefit arrives gradually — which changes where the budget is best spent today.
The upgrade is a switching project as much as a wireless one
Buying Wi-Fi 7 access points and reusing Gigabit access switches is the most expensive way to not get Wi-Fi 7. The port has to move to 2.5G, and the uplink behind it to 10G.

320 MHz channels — double the width, in 6 GHz only
Wi-Fi 7 doubles the maximum channel width from 160 to 320 MHz, and that width is only available in the 6 GHz band. It is the single largest contributor to the headline rate, which is why tri-band models like the L7Pro carry a much higher number than dual-band ones.
Multi-Link Operation — bands used together, not chosen between
MLO lets a capable client transmit and receive across 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz simultaneously rather than associating to one. In practice it shows up as lower and steadier latency, which matters more for a video call than peak throughput does. Available on the L7Pro, L7, L7Lite, L7-W and L7-T.
4096-QAM and preamble puncturing
4096-QAM packs roughly 20 percent more data into each symbol, but needs a clean, strong signal to hold — so it rewards good AP placement rather than compensating for bad placement. Preamble puncturing lets the AP keep using a wide channel when part of it is occupied, instead of falling back to a narrow one.
The wired side that makes it real
Every Lysora Wi-Fi 7 AP has at least a 2.5GbE uplink; the L7Pro adds 10GE SFP+. Behind them the LS2P-8MG2XS-P provides eight 2.5G PoE+ ports and two 10GE SFP+ uplinks. Without that, the radios are throttled at the port and the upgrade delivers a fraction of what it cost.

Field notes
What catches people out on Indian sites
The things a datasheet will not tell you and a survey usually misses, gathered from deployments rather than from a brochure.
- Plan 6 GHz coverage separately from 5 GHz. Same AP positions, different propagation — the holes will not be where you expect.
- Check what your client devices actually support before paying for MLO. Wi-Fi 6 laptops will not use it.
- PoE budget goes up with Wi-Fi 7. The L7Pro draws up to 30 W, so a switch rated comfortably for Wi-Fi 6 APs may not carry the same count of Wi-Fi 7 units.
- India's 6 GHz spectrum position has been evolving. Confirm the current permitted band and power limits for your deployment date rather than assuming parity with the US or EU.
- If the budget only stretches to either the APs or the switching, do the switching first and phase the APs. The reverse strands the investment.

Wi-Fi 7 upgrades — common questions
Is Wi-Fi 7 worth it if our laptops are Wi-Fi 6?
Partly. A Wi-Fi 7 access point still serves Wi-Fi 6 clients well and gives you headroom as devices refresh, but the features that make Wi-Fi 7 distinctive — Multi-Link Operation, 320 MHz channels, 4096-QAM — need a Wi-Fi 7 client to be used at all. If your fleet is mostly Wi-Fi 6 on a three-year cycle and your switching is still Gigabit, the AX3000 L6 usually delivers more per rupee today, and we will tell you that.
What is Multi-Link Operation and does it matter in practice?
MLO lets a capable client use 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz at the same time rather than picking one. The practical benefit is not usually peak speed — it is steadier latency, because traffic can move off a band that has become congested without re-associating. For video calls and real-time applications that is the more valuable property.
Do I need 10G switching for Wi-Fi 7?
You need at least 2.5G at the access port, and 10G on the uplink behind it if several Wi-Fi 7 APs share a switch. Every Lysora Wi-Fi 7 access point has a 2.5GbE port and the L7Pro adds 10GE SFP+. The LS2P-8MG2XS-P pairs eight 2.5G PoE+ ports with two 10GE SFP+ uplinks, which is the shape most Wi-Fi 7 refreshes end up needing.
